Over the past 22 years, Wheeling & Heeling for Cancer has become much more than an annual fundraiser. This Menomonee Falls, WI tradition has become a celebration of life! Over 800 participants gather each year to ride, run, or walk in celebration of someone who has defeated or is fighting cancer, or in memory of someone lost to this devastating illness.
As several Western States employees have been dealing with some form of cancer affecting themselves or their loved ones, a group of coworkers decided to put a team together to help these patients in their fight to treat and end the disease. Team “Steve O’s Striders & Strollers” was created and named in honor of the spouse of an employee who, with his family, is currently coping with the disease.
Through the generosity of Western States and its people, $1,295 was raised and the Team (pictured here) participated in the latest Wheeling & Heeling for Cancer event on August 10, 2019. All the proceeds benefit the Cancer Care Center at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Community Memorial Hospital.
